It's me, hi!
I'm Ashley and I am passionate about helping humans discover their most authentic selves through evidence-based mental health therapy. We often lose our authentic selves by going through traumatic situations, which is essential to survival. However, I want to help you get out of survival mode and back into a safe and authentic space.
Nothing lights me up like helping people work through their religious trauma. While the work is heavy, your authentic self is on the other side of it, and nothing is more freeing than coming home to yourself. If you are someone who doesn't think religious trauma is a real thing, I am not the girl for you (and that's okay!). As a former member of the LDS/Mormon church, I know firsthand just how much trauma comes with being a part of a high demand religion.
EMDR Therapy
There are so many different therapy models and modalities out there. EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is the primary modality I use with my clients, and I have seen it change SO many lives. EMDR is a very popular therapy modality and it is currently the most effective mental health therapy model that we have for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.
"I’ve been a client of Ashley VanYperen’s for several years now, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. As a therapist, she has been instrumental in my healing journey. Perhaps most notably, Ashley has helped me reach and maintain sobriety. It will be 5 years this October (2024). Ashley utilized EMDR for addiction treatment, and since then, I haven’t had the desire or temptation to drink. Therapy with Ashley has made a profound difference in my life. My addiction no longer haunts me the way it seems to haunt others in recovery, and I believe that this is due to my work with Ashley. Her expertise, compassion, and dedication have truly transformed my life. If you are seeking a therapist who can make a real difference, Ashley is the one to see. 10/10 highly recommend! "
While I do have a lot of knowledge and tools to share with you as your therapist, I care deeply about therapy being a collaborative experience. I am not the kind of therapist who will hold your feet to the fire and force you to do things my way.
I actively encourage my clients to give me feedback on our work together, so that I can tailor my treatment approach to their individual wants and needs.

Do you want to work with me? I would love to chat with you more to see if we are a good fit for one another. One of the most important things for growth and change in the therapeutic process is the relationship between the therapist and the client. Because of this, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation with any potential clients who are interested in talking more about what therapy could look like with me.
